Hey Juss Friends!
It’s time for part ✌🏾.. thanks for joining me again! Last time we talked about 3 tips I’ve learned to help in this natural hair journey.
And we’ll get right in to it…
4. Hydration: In and Out💧
This one is pretty straight forward. Our hair needs water! Our body needs us to drink water and spray/spritz water directly on the hair. Wash day is the most hydrating that your hair gets ever, but it’s important to incorporate some type of H20 regularly in between washes, especially for us type 4 hair girls!! (Bonus: dry your hair with a t-shirt instead of a regular towel which can dry the hair out unnecessarily)
This is to be used in addition to, not instead of, hydration. (I learned that this last couple of months.🙃)
Moisturization IS wash day as well, but speaks more to the longer term effects of wash day. Moisture is added back in to the hair during wash day by using WATER and moisturizing products. This determines the state of your hair until the next was day basically.
6. PATIENCE ! ⏰
… is a virtue! I don’t care what they told you. You have to prepare your mind with both short and long term goals if you‘re serious about your growth journey.
By short term patience, I mean how are you dealing with your hair on the daily? Are you yanking a comb through your tresses with no sympathy or moisture? Do you put on a scarf or bonnet most nights? Etc…
When i talk about having long term patience, I’m saying allow time for the routine to develop and actually work for your hair.
Which brings me to…
7. Finger Detangle, peeps!
Sis! Trust me when i say, you WILL thank me later!
Benefits of finger detangling:
•less single strand knots
•LESS TEARS 🙌🏾
To name a few.
I can most honestly say adding finger detangling into my routine for wash day has DRAMATICALLY had a direct effect on the condition of my hair and how much of it actually stay on my head! Lol try it and let me know how it goes for you. I’m including a link to one of my favorite youtubers video on how to finger detangle: Nappy Fu TV https://youtu.be/YwubgAxVfxk . She does a great job breaking it down, and many other natural hair issues as well.
Well, that’s all for this go-around folks. I’m sure I’ve bombarded you with enough of my findings for one post. Part 3 coming soon, but you have to be subscribed to get notified via email when it’s released👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks again for reading and for all of your support on this journey called life… natural hair life😏. I want to hear from you So drop a comment with your thoughts. Be blessed✌🏾
